Given the arc/halo like streak which that object is at the centre of at a guess I'd think it may be some kind of lense flare or something randomly reflecting and catching the lense, producing an arc in the shape of the lense or possibly even total internal reflection producing the same effect in reverse ... The streaks above the object could be caused by movement of the camera downwards at the time the reflection was caught eg motion blur and not actual movement. Yes, I can see the image is steady but ... even a fraction of movement which may not show any noticeable image blur could produce or may produce such an anomaly if caught glancingly eg very quickly then gone. Though it also strangely looks like the sun as well. There is clearly cloud or just a dirty lense around the bottom of the image so that part can't be seen.

When you first look at it, it looks like a piece of cloud thats broken off and flare off the camera, having said that, the rest of the photo looks fine with no distortion, somtimes just clouds on their own can look funny shapes :eek:

Interpretations of course will differ, depends what you are looking for.
